Lolita Fashion Fabric Guide

Photo and Editing Credits

Many of the photos in this guide were generously provided by volunteers and friends! I am myself a primarily gothic and classic lolita, and didn’t have access to many good examples of fabric in sweet lolita designs from various companies like Angelic Pretty. As a result, several people provided me with excellent references and close-ups of items from their own, personal lolita fashion collections.

Please consider giving their social media a look, as many of them are seamstresses and designers with items available for purchase, or provide further tutorials to help you sew, build, and maintain your lolita wardrobe.

Proof-reading and editing was also provided from a small group of people who were kind enough to lend me their time and attention, despite not being involved in the lolita community.

Thank you everyone for your help!

They provided photos for dress examples which I did not have in my collection, including pieces from Angelic Pretty and Baby, the Stars Shine Bright. Check out their social media on Instagram and YouTube, where they provide tutorials and share their outfits!

Lolibrary

Lolibrary is a common resource for lolitas to look up dresses and other items, and I used it extensively during the writing of this guide, to find stock photos and fibre content information for dresses I do not own, as well as references to the names brands use for their fabrics.

They are a non-profit, volunteer-driven organisation, dedicated to preserving records in a Lolita Fashion Archive.

If you want to look at more, fully finished examples of the fabrics discussed in this guide, be sure to visit their site, and consider a donation or becoming a Patron! Without the amazing work they do so many pieces of lolita fashion history would have vanished from the internet by now.

Seams Witch

She helped me with a lot of the editing, and listened to me spitball this guide when I first started coming up with information to include. She also provided some photos for the guide, and has two adorable cats, so check her out!

Tamy

In addition to helping me get photos of pieces I didn't have access to, she helped me with a lot of the visual design for the guide's layout, as well as proof-reading and general trouble-shooting. She writes hilarious reviews of Korean romance webnovels in her free time, so have a peek!

And finally, a special shout-out to my partner who proof read this guide for me, and listened to me rant about the process of putting it together. ♥
